Project Management:This
position allows the successful candidate develop and improve
project management skills. The position will require project
management, consultant management, and possibly some construction
management. It will also require interfacing with other
agencies and development of council/board and other report
documents.
Public Sector Experience:The selected candidate will
gain key public sector experience that can effectively positioning
the candidate to go after and obtain key, sought-after public
sector jobs.
Job Description:
Working under a senior project manager,
the Associate Water Engineer will assist a public sector agency,
serving as a Water Project Engineer/ Project Manager. The
principal duties will be to assist in managing and improving
the agency’s water system. Responsibilities could include
assisting in planning and development of water CIP projects
and programs, preparation of RFPs and the selection and management
of consultants and review of work product submitted by consultants.
The individual will also manage various water projects including
pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, treatment improvement,
PRVs and other facilities. He/she could investigate field
problems and develop solutions affecting customers, contractors
and maintenance staff. Responsibilities could also include
conducting or assisting in various technical studies and reports
and performing other related work as required.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or
a related engineering field. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience involving the design, construction
and inspection and of water projects. Registration as a professional civil engineer
is desired but not required.
