Job Description:
Working under a senior engineer, the Assistant Civil Engineer will assist a local public sector agency address various wastewater, recycled water, solid waste, and other related projects. The principal duties will include, but are not limited to: performing the planning and design phases of major engineering projects; determining procedures; assisting other engineers in the development of plans, specifications, and detail drawings of a project. Making engineering studies, preparing plans, specifications, estimates and reports, or direct field engineering activities in connection with maintenance, inspection, and operation of a wide variety of engineering projects as needed by the client agency. The candidate will also perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related engineering field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects. At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience involving the design, construction and inspection of public works projects. Registration as a professional civil engineer is desired but not required.
